Three explosions have rocked Gombe, the capital of Gombe state, a week after twin blasts killed 50 people at the city’s central market.

A PREMIUM TIMES correspondent said a high casualty figure was expected in Wednesday’s attack.

The first two explosions occurred at a busy motor park.​

​The blasts, suspected to be from Improvised Explosive Devices worn by suicide bombers, occurred at about 7p.m.

​Our reporter said the ​explosions took place ​minutes apart ​inside Dadin Kowa motor ​park​.​

The third blast occurred nearly two hours after the first attacks, as residents searched through hospitals for their loved ones who may have been affected by the motor parks attacks.

​Last week, explosions by suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers killed 50 people inside the town’s main market last week.

JOS, Nigeria (Morning Star News) – A congregation in this central Nigerian city continued worshiping on Sunday (July 12) after a security man found and tossed over a fence a bomb before it exploded, the pastor said.

The Nigerian military reported its troops have arrested the mastermind of last Sunday’s bombing in Jos, Plateau State, and Tuesday’s suicide bomb in Zaria, Kaduna State.

In Jos, a coordinated bomb and gun attack on worshippers at Yan Taya mosque, Dillimi Street, off Bauchi Road, Jos killed 48 people, injuring several others. In Zaria, 26 were killed in a suicide attack on the secretariat building in Sabon Gari Local Government Area during a verification exercise.

The press release from Army Spokesman Colonel SK Usman said that “the arrested terrorists are currently being processed for further action and would soon face the full wrath of the law.”

The military stopped the terrorist and two of his accomplices at a checkpoint in Dadin Kowa, Gombe State where they were disguised and hiding in a trailer.
