Nigerian Catholic Bishops Eye Pope Seat,-Condemn Same Sex Marriages

 

Nigerian Bishop conference during its meeting in Abuja recently have expressed the possibility that a new Pope to take over from Pope Benedict XVI can come from any part of the world.Speaking on some of the issues deliberated upon by the Bishop’s conference, John Cardinal Onayekan said the contest is open to any part of the world. “There is no zoning in this matter, so you can’t say it has been zoned to Africa. Wherever it comes from, the Holy spirit will tell us come from any part of the world”On the media reports quoting Monsignor Christopher Ajala, Diocesan Administrator of catholic Diocese of Abeokuta to the effect that the Catholic Church has served its link to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) the Bishop’s conference said they were still part and parcel of CAN.The Catholic Bishops Conference also condemned the practice in the western world where churches now join and bless same sex marriages. “Those overseas who want to make provision for men and men and women and to untie are free to do so but they should not call it marriage.The Bishop also urged Christians to be steadfast in all act the degrade people all over the world.For the second time in the election of the pope, Francis Cardinal Arlinze is being topped by book makers to be the next Pope.
